A: DiBond is an aluminium composite material with two 0.15mm aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene core, creating a lightweight yet rigid panel ideal for signage.

A: They are used for indoor and outdoor signage like shop fascias, directional boards, exhibition displays, and retail promotions due to their durability and professional finish.
A: Standard DiBond signs are 3mm thick with a weight of 3.64kg per square metre, making them easy to install while maintaining structural strength.
A: Yes, they are weatherproof and UV-resistant, suitable for long-term outdoor exposure with a temperature range of -50°C to +80°C and no rust or fading.
A: Single-sided digital printing with latex inks provides a vibrant, waterproof finish; custom colours and full-bleed designs are supported.
A: Standard DiBond Aluminium sizes from 1/3A4(DL) right up to a huge A0 size can made for assembly on-site.
A: Supply files at 150dpi to 350dpi in CMYK, with 5mm bleed; use SVG or EPS Vector graphics from Adobe Illustrator or Canva for text and avoid edge borders to account for non-printable grip areas. Resolution below 150 dpi will result in a poor, very pixelated image.
A:YES. 3mm To ensure that the edges of your artwork aren’t cut off by the printer, you need to allow a 3mm bleed, and a 3mm quiet zone area in from where it'll be guillotined.
A: Options directly from TradePrintingUK include 6mm pre-drilled holes, but you could also use solutions from Screwfix or builders merchants including VHB tape for smooth surfaces, mechanical screws, or stand-offs for a modern floating installation.

A: Either protective Matt or Gloss Lamination can be added for extra scratch resistance.
A: With UV-resistant inks and weatherproof construction, and choosing a Lamination option they typically last 5-10 years without significant degradation. It depends mainly on where you display it. They will last indefinitely Indoors though.

What are DiBond Signs?
Dibond Aluminium Signs are strong, weather-proof signs that can be printed with anything you want on them, perfect for businesses and charities of all sizes and can be used outdoors or as long-term indoor signs too. TradePrintingUK.com are specialists in these signs
What are DiBond Signs made of?
DiBond Signage is made of both a composite aluminium and plastic sign material.
Two factory-painted sheets of composite aluminium are permanently bonded to both sides of a high density plastic core, sandwiching the plastic sign panel in between.
The solid plastic core adds body, thickness and rigidity to the sheet.
The internal plastic core is made of solid polyethylene, compared to standard alu signs which are entirely metal.
This polyethylene core allows Dibond to be strong, durable and lightweight, yet less likely to rust than other metals.

What are the benefits of DiBond business signage?
✓Like most cut plastic sheeting, it is easy to work with.
✓It can be drilled, riveted, screwed or nailed to almost any surface, and as it will not rust or crack it is ideal for both long and short term advertising displays.
✓It has a great white surface for printing onto, which means consistently high quality print results.
✓It is super-strong and semi-permanent, while still lightweight and weatherproof regardless of temperature fluctuations.
✓It does not rust or deteriorate in the sun, although the print may fade over time.
How long will a DiBond sign last?
The combination of aluminium & plastic in DiBond creates a waterproof sign material that is perfect for its longevity & durability, both inside & outside business premises.
It can last for decades indoors, and more than 5+ years outdoors on a semi-permanent basis with proper care.

What is Dibond signage used for?
It's an affordable printed solution if used for the following:
✓Directory Name Signs on Flats and Apartments
✓Business and Office Signage
✓Information signage like No Parking or Traffic Signs
✓Industrial Units
✓Shop Fronts
✓Property Development Hoardings
✓Shop Display Signs and POS
What are the other names for DiBond?
'Dibond', 'Alupanel' or ‘Sandwich Panel’ are print industry brand names for these Aluminium Composite Sheets.
Is this Fire Retardant and Can It Be Recycled?
It has a temperature resistance range from minus 50°C to plus 80°C. It would burn above that temperature.
It can be recycled along with other PVC products.
