What are DiBond Signs?
Dibond Aluminium Signs are strong, weather-proof signs that can be printed with anything you want on them, perfect for businesses and charities of all sizes and can be used outdoors or as long-term indoor signs too.
What are DiBond Signs made of?
DiBond Signage is made of both a composite aluminium and plastic sign material.
Two factory-painted sheets of composite aluminium are permanently bonded to both sides of a high density plastic core, sandwiching the plastic sign panel in between.
The solid plastic core adds body, thickness and rigidity to the sheet.
The internal plastic core is made of solid polyethylene, compared to standard alu signs which are entirely metal.
This polyethylene core allows Dibond to be strong, durable and lightweight, yet less likely to rust than other metals.
What are the benefits of DiBond business signage?
✓Like most cut plastic sheeting, it is easy to work with.
✓It can be drilled, riveted, screwed or nailed to almost any surface, and as it will not rust or crack it is ideal for both long and short term advertising displays.
✓It has a great white surface for printing onto, which means consistently high quality print results.
✓It is super-strong and semi-permanent, while still lightweight and weatherproof regardless of temperature fluctuations.
✓It does not rust or deteriorate in the sun, although the print may fade over time.
How long will a DiBond sign last?
The combination of aluminium & plastic in DiBond creates a waterproof sign material that is perfect for its longevity & durability, both inside & outside business premises.
It can last for decades indoors, and more than 5+ years outdoors on a semi-permanent basis with proper care.
What are the other names for DiBond?
'Dibond', 'Alupanel' or ‘Sandwich Panel’ are print industry brand names for these Aluminium Composite Sheets.
What is Dibond signage used for?
It's an affordable printed solution if used for the following:
✓Directory Name Signs on Flats and Apartments
✓Business and Office Signage
✓Information signage like No Parking or Traffic Signs
✓Industrial Units
✓Shop Fronts
✓Property Development Hoardings
✓Shop Display Signs and POS
Is this Fire Retardant and Can It Be Recycled?

It can be recycled along with other PVC products.
DiBond — FAQs
QWhat sizes do TradePrintingUK offer?
A
A4 are 297mm x 210mm in size.
A3 are 420mm x 297mm in size.
A2 are 594mm x 420mm in size.
A1 are 841mm x 594mm in size.
A0 are 1189mm x 841mm in size.
QWhat resolution is best for any signage?
A150dpi to 350dpi. The resolution of each image in your DiBond should be 150-350 dpi (or pixels per inch). Resolution below 150 dpi will result in a poor, very pixelated image.
QDo I need to add bleed or crop marks to my artwork?
AYES. 3mm To ensure that the edges of your artwork aren’t cut off by the printer, you need to allow a 3mm bleed, and a 3mm quiet zone area in from where it'll be guillotined.
QHow long should I display a DiBond for?
AThe frequency of use for printed signs on DiBond depends on where you display it. They will last indefinitely indoors and have a circa 5-year+ life in outside environments so would be considered semi-permanent.
QI need signage design tips?
AKEEP IT SIMPLE! Being attractive, eye-catching with a simple message will be easiest to read.
✓ Ensure the Headline and main message are BIG and readable from at least 1 metre or (or preferably much) more away from the reader.
✓ Don't fill it with clutter, too much text, or too many pictures.
✓ Use a clear, legible typeface, preferably the same typeface family.
✓ Always ask yourself, WHAT is the purpose and WHO is the audience?
