A: Choose A6 — 148 × 105mm, in landscape or portrait orientation, or Square — 105 × 105mm. Both formats are available on 300gsm White Uncoated Card or 400gsm Silk Artboard.

A: We recommend 300gsm White Uncoated Card. It's naturally writable, matt surface suits messages, addresses and artist signatures, with a tactile feel for souvenir and art postcards. Leave writing areas clear of heavy printed backgrounds. Choose 400gsm Silk Artboardif you prefer a heavier card with a smooth, coated finish.

A: The specification is Full Colour on the front and Black on the reverse, also called CMYK 4/1. Use the front for your photograph or artwork and the reverse for a caption, branding, message area or address layout. Prepare any reverse-side logos and graphics in Black rather than colour.

A: A6 suits traditional souvenir layouts, wider landscapes and aircraft profiles, or taller images in portrait orientation. The 105mm Square format works well for centred compositions, illustrations, botanical details and miniature art prints. Choose the shape that preserves the important parts of your image.

A: Yes. Create your postcard design using your own photographs, illustrations, scanned artwork and branding, then upload the finished print-ready PDF. Visitor centres can feature their attractions and exhibits; artists and photographers can create designs from their own collections.

A: They can be, provided the original image is sharp and has enough resolution after cropping. Supply the highest resolution photographs at 350dpi at their final printed size. Use the original high resolution Jpeg / HEIC (needs converted to another format first) file where possible: screenshots and images saved from social media may have lost detail through resizing or compression.

A: You can use the same source image, but prepare a separate layout for each shape. Changing A6 artwork to Square usually needs a different crop or an added border. Do not stretch the image; check that faces, signatures, aircraft wings and other important details remain inside the finished card.

A: Yes. Your Black-only reverse can include message and address areas, an image caption, limited edition text, artist credit, museum or attraction details, a themed or company logo, website or retail information. You don't have to use the standard lined and place for stamp layout of old. Keep the layout readable and leave clear space wherever customers will write though.

A: Yes. Include it in your artwork with clear space around it and strong contrast against the background. Test QR codes at the actual printed size and link to a page you can keep available. Supply the correct retail barcode for the product you intend to sell.

A: Yes. Optional Limited Edition Sequential Numbering is a TradePrintingUK speciality and gives each printed postcard its own number for artist editions, commemorative releases or collectible designs. Plan the edition size and numbering position before preparing your artwork.

A: Supply a print-ready PDF with the front in CMYK and the reverse as Black only, using the correct finished size plus 3mm bleed. Check spelling, captions and front-to-reverse orientation. See our Postcards Artwork Guide for help preparing your file.

A: Add 3mm bleed on every edge. Including bleed, landscape A6 artwork measures 154 × 111mm and Square artwork measures 111 × 111mm. Extend background images into the bleed, but keep text, logos and essential details comfortably inside the finished trim edge.

A: Yes. Extend the photograph or background through the 3mm bleed area so it reaches the trimmed edge. You can do this with AI via ChatGPT or Google Gemini. They can also Upscale Artwork by 2x or 4x. You can also design a deliberate,thick white border. Leave enough space around important details so normal trimming variation does not cut into them.

A: FREE delivery covers one parcel up to 30kgto Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, excluding the Scottish Highlands and islands (where a small surcharge applies). Delivery to other European destinations also carries a surcharge for Airmail shipping.

A: Yes. Choose the size, stock and quantity for each design and use Add To Basket. When ready, click the blue “Upload your own design PDF & Checkout” button. Give each job a clear name and upload its corresponding artwork so each design and quantity can be identified.

A: Yes. Our 10-copy minimumlets you place a small paid order to assess your printed design, card stock and layout before ordering more. It is also a practical way to test a new scene, museum or exhibition image, or Art postcard with your customers.

A: An exact match cannot be assumed. Screens and CMYK printing reproduce colour differently, and the chosen card stock also affects the appearance. Prepare your artwork for print and consider a small initial order if colour is particularly important to your photographs or illustrations.

A: First establish that you have the right to reproduce and sell the image. Owning a photograph or receiving it as a donation does not necessarily transfer copyright, and an old image is not automatically out of copyright. Check any permission, licence and credit requirements before supplying artwork.

A: Yes. Coordinate your images, captions and branding around a place, museum, charity organisation, church, aviation society, exhibition, artist or collection. You can sell the printed cards individually or assemble your own gift sets. Add each design to your basket with its required quantity; discuss any separate packaging requirements with the studio.
