What are GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S DAILY LOG Forms?
General Contractor's Daily Log Books are a detailed log of contractor personnel activity on a construction site, within a workday. The daily log books include a variety of information pertaining to which sub-contractors, Architects or Engineers are on-site, what their company or trade is within the industry, when their day starts and ends, plus what tests and inspections were carried out with the building project on that day
The General Contractor's Daily Log is not required as a legal UK document, but is part of a 'safe system of work procedure' used by many building companies and UK developers as a detailed log of personnel activity on a construction site, within a single work day. It is usually accompanied by other Daily Construction Report documents issued by an Authorised Person within the development or building company.
The General Contractor's Daily Log Report (for use within a construction environment) must provide details on:
✓ Project Name
✓ Construction Site address
✓ Date of the Report
✓ ON-site Contact
✓ No. of Work Days into a Project
✓ Sub-Contractors, Architects, or engineers names, classifications and company names who are on-site
✓ Start and Finish times
✓ Other Activities and Visitor' names
✓ Any Tests and Inspections carried out during that day.
