Plain C4 non-window envelopes are also one of the most popular European sizes (both single colour and full colour). It is normally used to securely send A4 size business letters such as SAGE invoices or SAGE Statements, or other business marketing materials like brochures, presentation folders or printed samples. It's also the ideal size for a business letter, or printed marketing mail-shots within the UK or overseas. This is the equivalent size to a printed Letterhead, A4 size, or 229mm wide x 323mm deep. Flap will be on the right-hand-side as you look at the front of the C4 Envelope if your professional envelope artwork is of Landscape orientation, or at the top if Portrait orientation on a C4 plain non-window Envelope.

Trade Printing UK always use a premium envelope brand which gives a high-white, high-quality finish, and there are both window and plain (non-window) envelope variants available. We mainly use the shorter-life 'Self-Seal' type which are sealed by pressing together two flaps that are both pre-gummed. Bear in mind that over time (less than a year) they are prone to drying out in warmer office conditions, but are less expensive to produce and the majority of our clients prefer them due the advantage of ease of use, no manual licking involved (yuck! we all remember licking gummed envelopes is like a bulldog chewing a wasp) and less office waste (those little white peel-off strips on Peel & Seal envelopes have to be dumped somewhere!) so they are normally used quite quickly for specific mail-outs or in a normal office environment. Production notes to design a plain C4-size Printed Colour Envelope

Trade Printing UK traditionally work with pocket-style (side opening) flaps on our C4 envelope range.The flaps are usually always up by default. If you need printing on the main side flap then that can be done on both C4 and C5 envelopes with the same pass as the rest of your artwork, thus NO extra charge! However, the current way that Royal Mail prefers you print your return address etc. is at the base (within 10mm) on the front side of the C4 envelope. That's where the Royal Mail's sorting machinery will look for it nowadays anyway.

All custom-printed C4 envelope descriptions are for guidance only as exact dimensions are subject to the usual tolerances that occur during the manufacturing process. In particular, flap shapes and sizes vary depending on the precise manufacturing machinery. Any custom printed envelope you order may be subject to minor design variances, however, these variances will neither affect the functionality nor the perception of quality of the custom printed, colour C4 envelopes.
